OK friends, new prayer request. I have this stupid wound on my thumb which despite my vet's best attempts and a minor surgery in Kampala is still getting worse. I'm afraid I have a splinter of glass under the nail and pus just keep accumulating. I've been traveling but am now back in Soroti. It's quite painful and on my right hand so I need to ask for help far more than I am comfortable with. I feel like maybe God is trying to teach me something.....

Update- well, thanks to you quick pray-ers. I got a nerve block and had it all debrided this afternoon by a PA here in Soroti. Also some new antibiotics.  I'm hopeful things are now headed the right direction.  Also some ultram which is a wonderful thing.

Quick blog post about baby Anna! She has put on 3kg so is big enough and the specialist from the US have arrived to do as many kids as they can in the next two weeks. Anna is "booked" with the maxillogacial/ ENT surgeons tomorrow!  I'm still in western so I don't have a current picture but keep her in your prayers over the next few days.

Update- change of plans. They traveled and met with the doctors again but the surgeon had too many patients scheduled so the smallest ones were bumped to the next time he comes in August. Anna and Judith will just have to wait.

Felt very weird to spend the past several days teaching and not mention a single thing related to pregnancy, communicable diseases or hand washing even once!

Rabbits

So one of my favorite parts of the work we do in the Batwa villages is rabbit revolving loans. This lady got two rabbits a few months back from her neighbor who received a pair of rabbits from Dr. Daniel after receiving training on how to breed and care for them. Her neighbor trained her and once her's produce she will give two to someone else and train them. Rabbits for everybody!
